Limak Cement’s R&D journey began in 2010 with the establishment of the Central R&D Laboratory. It expanded its capacity by incorporating concrete laboratories in Ankara and Istanbul in 2011 and launched its first branded product, Limak CEM PLUS+, in 2013. By accelerating its global expansion with R&D laboratories in Mozambique in 2016 and the Ivory Coast in 2018, it established itself as a strong player in the industry.
In 2019, it took a pioneering step in environmental sustainability by obtaining the European Technical Assessment (EOTA) certificate for its cement product containing bottom ash. With the launch of the Limak R&D and Innovation Center (LCTO) in 2022, it received an incentive from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology under Law No. 5746.
By combining science and technology, LCTO provides sustainable solutions to the industry. In 2023, it showcased its expertise in innovative construction technologies with its first R&D product, Limak Cement 3DC-101. As of 2024, Limak Cement continues to lead the sustainable transformation with pioneering projects in the industry.
More than 30 researchers are employed at the R&D and Innovation Center in Ankara, with over 25% holding master's and PhD degrees, combining academic knowledge with practical field experience. We continue to shape innovation and sustainability in the cement industry with our vision of becoming a global leader in green transformation.
